Go Hard Out for the Hungry in Mali and Niger!

That's the theme of World Vision's 40 Hour Famine for 2012.
It's an opportunity for Kiwis to raise money for children living in West Africa, specifically Mali and Niger.

The situation in Mali and Niger has reached crisis point...

Right now, Mali and Niger are in the thick of the global food crisis. If urgent action isn't taken, the food crisis could become the worst in Mali and Niger in a decade. Entire regions tinker on the verge of famine.

Together, Kiwis can make a difference in 2012

The key to ending hunger is to stop food crises before they start. Mali and Niger may be vulnerable to droughts, crop failure and unreliable food markets, but there are definitely things that can be done to help communities cope with these challenges.
