World Vision is holding the GLC in five locations throughout New Zealand.
Each event begins at 9am and finishes by 3.30pm.

What is GLC?

Global Leadership Conventions (GLC’s) are World Vision’s one-day student leadership events. They are designed to inform and empower student leaders in years 12-13 who want to be a voice for justice in the world. The events embrace innovative ways of learning about poverty and global hunger, including:

  • Multimedia presentations
  • Interactive simulation games
  • Problem-solving exercises
  • Debates and open discussions

The GLC events develop leadership qualities in secondary students, encouraging them to:
LEARN about the challenges associated with global hunger
ACT and make a difference, using their influence to motivate others
SHARE their knowledge and skills with students, schools and their community.

Workshops for teachers

As well as inviting teachers to attend GLC free of charge, we also have a workshop designed especially for them. This workshop will be a great chance for teachers to network and get in on the action, too!
