Disasters and Emergencies How World Vision Saves Lives

Disasters and Emergencies How World Vision Saves Lives

Disaster response timeline

When disaster strikes, World Vision's plan of action includes a series of different stages to come to the aid of survivors. Depending on the needs of each emergency, these stages may overlap and may follow a varied pattern. However, the first priority would always be to save as many lives as possible by providing immediate emergency aid. Recovery work and the long-term rebuilding of communities will come later. Meanwhile, World Vision offices around the world would be raising awareness and funds to help finance World Vision's emergency relief work. The PDF below explains the process, which can last up to five years or longer.
