Ways to give
There are a number of ways that you can give to World Vision.
Check out our various opportunities below. If you require
assistance, please phone 0800 800 776.
Sponsor a child
Child Sponsorship, through community
development, achieves real and long-lasting change for children,
families and communities living in extreme poverty.
Sponsoring a child gives you personal contact with a child and
their family within a community. You will receive annual updates on
your child and their community and you can also choose to
correspond with your sponsor child. Money does not go directly to
sponsored children, because World Vision has found the best way to
help a child is to help the whole community through our long-term
community development programmes. We know through decades of
experience that these programmes work, and children's lives are
changed through transforming their communities.

Smiles gift catalogue
A smile is the first thing you look for when you
give a gift - so why not spread it further? With a gift from our
Smiles catalogue, you'll stretch that smile from someone you love
to someone far away.
You can spend as little as $6 or as much as $89,950. Whatever
the amount, you'll be contributing to the lives of children,
families and communities in need.
And that's gotta make you smile, too.

Children in Crisis
Children in Crisis (CIC) is a pledge
programme unique to World Vision. Within the Children in
Crisis programme you are able to choose to support a key crisis
area of your interest. Your options are:
- Children at risk: helps children escape dangerous,
abusive and exploitative situations, such as being sold into
prostitution or forced into child labour
- Education and advocacy: helps children access basic
quality education so they can escape poverty and reach their full
potential.
- Emergency and disaster mitigation: provides essential
items such as food, clean water and shelter to children affected by
conflict or natural disasters (e.g. famine, war, earthquakes,
floods)
- Health and disabilities: increases children's access
to safe water, proper sanitation and medical treatment, and
advocates for the rights of children with disabilities
- HIV and AIDS: supports children orphaned because of
AIDS, caregivers looking after the sick, and educates the
community, especially youth, on how to avoid HIV infection

Vision on 0800 800 776

Donate your tax credits
If you do not claim a credit the money remains with the
government. However, if you do claim your rebate, you can make your
initial donation work again by donating it back to World Vision. We
have a growing number of people who do this each year, and on
behalf of World Vision, we thank you for your support.

Microfinance
Many of the world's poor have the entrepreneurial
spirit. They work hard and have clever ideas. They are not lazy.
They just have not been given a chance to live their dreams.
By offering basic business training and small loans we aim to
build people's capacity to solve their own problems and support
themselves and their families. This is about nurturing tiny
enterprises and creating gainful work and improving income
security. By providing a small amount of loan capital and business
expertise VisionFund realises the full potential of these
entrepreneurs and encourages others to be entrepreneurial. It
unleashes the entrepreneurial spirit in the poor themselves.

Wills and bequests
As well as donating money during their lifetime, many people
choose to acknowledge a favourite charity in their will, by leaving
a bequest. A bequest is a special gift of cash or assets that you
leave in your will to a person or organisation. After taking care
of your loved ones in your will, you might like to also leave a
gift to World Vision.

World Food Programme
World Vision works with the UN World Food
Programme to provide
life-saving food aid where needed most. By working together
in countries like North and South Sudan, Uganda and Laos, we can
make a bigger impact to save more lives and fight child
malnutrition.
Our partnership also means your donation will also go further,
with every $1 you give providing $6 worth of food aid.
