Worldbuddies - friends for life
Hey, do you want to
be a Worldbuddy? To sign up or ask for more information, email us
at
info@worldbuddies.org.nz
or call 0800 800 776.
Who can? You can!
Anyone who wants to get to know a child their own age living in a
community in need. All you need to do is get a grown-up's (either a
parent, caregiver, grandparent or teacher) permission and support
to sponsor a child.
How much?
Sponsoring a child costs $45 a month so you will need to talk with
the grown-up who is supporting you about how the money will be
raised.
There's more…
Check out the funzone and
Grown-ups' Info pages for
ideas and activities to help you and your grown-up make the most of
being part of the Worldbuddy programme.
These pages will be updated four times a year - around school
holiday time - and World Vision will send a reminder email with a
link to the Worldbuddies webpage so you don't miss out.

Why
I support Worldbuddies
Character is the greatest legacy you can leave your
children. It will help them succeed in every dimension of their
lives, especially in their relationships with others. The two keys
of a wonderful character are altruism, the unselfish concern for
others, and empathy, understanding and entering into the feelings
of others.
Apart from visiting a World Vision project, Parents Inc. can
think of no better way for a child to learn empathy and altruism
than through Worldbuddies.
With help along the way, Worldbuddies provides wonderful
opportunities for parents to 'character -coach' their children.

Pinehurst Student Supports Worldbuddies
Recently seven Pinehurst Year 10 IGCSE Graphics students
completed a series of posters advertising the '40 hour famine' and
'sponsor a child' for a school project developed by World Vision.
Here is one by Olivia Ford promoting Worldbuddies.
