Programmes Unit Manager

The This role is responsible for leading a team of professional development experts in developing and managing World Vision New Zealand’s country and sector programming strategy. Principle accountabilities include team leadership and programming strategy for effective design monitoring and evaluation of our community programmes. Also key is ensuring all funded programmes and projects are aligned to our Child Well Being outcomes and providing effective financial management and accountability.

You will have proven experience in programme management in a developing world context.  You are a great people leader and strategic thinker. Strong financial and budgetary skills are critical, along with ability to network and work collaboratively with external agencies and internal stakeholders. You will have a track record of having successfully managed complex community development programmes and excellent communication and relationship skills to work effectively with both donors and our partners in the field.

At minimum you will have a master’s degree in a relevant discipline, preferably financial and experience. Experience in working in a developing country context, or working with an international development organisation are essential.

Lead Web Developer

The lead web developer role is responsible for enabling and empowering internal and external users through world class service and innovative web technologies.

Key result areas for this role include managing web development projects, web development, and strategic leadership in these areas.

A sample of what this role is responsible for includes identifying and developing new web applications and technologies to achieve strategic goals; creating, maintaining and enhancing existing web applications and all web systems integrations; and, creating and maintaining an intranet.

You will have previous experience/knowledge in:

  • Development with e-commerce systems
  • General web development techniques
  • Supporting languages such as XML, XHTML, JavaScript and CSS
  • Working in an Agile Development Life Cycle environment
  • .NET and Object Oriented programming
  • Service Oriented Architectures and Web Services
  • Databases, specifically SQL server, with a thorough understanding of database integration with web applications
  • Microsoft SharePoint
  • Experience working with AJAX and JavaScript programming
  • The following Microsoft products:
  • SQL Server 2005 / 2008
  • SQL Server Reporting Services

You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work with diverse groups of people. You will have a natural passion for technology with a willingness to continually learn and develop. You will be solution-focused with a methodical attention to detail and a self-starter with high energy levels and motivation. Tertiary qualifications in I.T. are desirable.

Business Intelligence Lead

The business intelligence lead role is responsible for enabling and empowering internal and external users through world class service and innovative database and analysis technologies.

Key result areas for this role include managing business intelligence and database development projects, database development, and strategic leadership in these areas.

This role is responsible for identifying and developing new business intelligence and data analysis applications & technologies to achieve strategic goals.

You will have previous experience/knowledge in:

  • Relational and dimensional data modelling
  • Data warehouse and OLAP cube design
  • EAI / ETL tools and techniques
  • Coding and tuning of queries using T-SQL and MDX
  • Development of business critical reports
  • Microsoft Business Intelligence suite:
  • SQL Server 2005 / 2008
  • SQL Server Integration Services
  • SQL Server Analysis Services
  • SQL Server Reporting Services
