Extreme disasters are global news events but how do aid organisations respond to them? This poster is designed to engage young people with photos, information and learning activities that develop an understanding of how disasters affect people’s lives and how aid organisations respond effectively to these events.
The poster can be used to focus on Social Studies curriculum concepts such as: challenge and crisis; events, causes and effects; resources; sustainability; human and child rights.
Schools or groups doing the 40 Hour Famine, or other social action in response to disasters, can use this poster to raise awareness and encourage meaningful global citizenship.
