40 Hour Famine: Kiwis Make it Count!

40 Hour Famine Kiwis Make it Count In May, thousands of young Kiwis "Raised the Stakes" for the World Vision 40 Hour Famine, challenging one another to do more than ever before!

It was a record-breaking Famine in many ways, with three World and New Zealand records set including: Wellingtonian, King Homeboy, who beat boxed non-stop for 34 hours; Motorsport trio Jono Lester, Ali Wooten and Mike Burdett trained at the gym for 40 hours and Tawa College Principal, Murray Lucas taught a chemistry class for 28 hours - all to raise funds and awareness for the 40 Hour Famine!

We're constantly inspired by the enthusiasm, determination and creativity of all our Famine participants – their achievements have made the 40 Hour Famine the iconic Kiwi fundraising event that it is today.

While the official Famine weekend is over, participants are finishing off their challenges and starting to collect their sponsorship funds. Energetic Famine supporters and TV’s Studio 2 presenters Matt and Dayna are helping us do this with their candid video clip, click on this link to view www.famine.org.nz/makeitcount.

So, whether you have completed a 40 Hour Famine or supported a participant in their quest to "Raise the Stakes" we would like to say a huge thank you! Your efforts will make a significant difference, helping children living in poverty overseas to reach their full potential.

We look forward to sharing some more great results soon.
