More about this community

The Kaliganj community development programme is in the Gazipur district, 40km north-east of the Bangladeshi capital city, Dhaka. World Vision has reached 130 villages with a total population of 157,700. World Vision has been working in partnership with the Kaliganj community since 1994. As a result of the generous support of Kiwis, there are now 34 community-based organisations in Kaliganj that are registered with the government and working for the community. Many sponsored children have graduated from school and now have a job. Children have become aware of their rights and are enjoying good health. Some community members have also started savings groups, enabling them to borrow money to start small businesses and improve their families' quality of life.
