New Zealand Churches and World Vision: Partners together for the poor
World Vision is an international partnership of Christians whose mission is to follow our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in working with the poor and oppressed to promote human transformation, seek justice and bear witness to the good news of the Kingdom of God.

The World Vision church partners programme provides networks and resources for New Zealand churches so they can contribute to spiritual and social transformation here and around the world. The programme encourages relationships between New Zealand church communities and World Vision work across the globe, including specific projects in Eastern Europe, Mongolia and the Pacific.

What are the benefits of being a World Vision partner?
When churches partner with World Vision, the whole church, rather than just individuals, becomes involved in mission to the poor - blessing the people the ministry supports, and changing the lives of the church people as they become involved in the ministry they're supporting and follow its progress.

How can your church become involved?
There are various ways your church can partner with World Vision to help the world's poorest people.

Some projects your church may wish to become involved in
are:
Training Christian workers in leadership in Mongolia's grasslands and rural centres, as the country emerges from communism and the Christian church experiences phenomenal growth
Bring Christ to the children of Eastern Europe by producing Christian literature in Russia for distribution throughout the former Communist world
Supporting Christ's Church in PNG, the Solomons and Vanuatu by equipping the Melanesian churches with urgently needed resources, including workshops in conflict resolution and peace building
Supporting World Vision's HIV and AIDS ministry to widows and orphans in several countries such as Rwanda, Tanzania and Malawi.
Financing Micro-Enterprise Development through World Vision's VisionFund programme. A church in New Zealand may commit to raising enough money to start a community bank in Cambodia ($9,000) which will provide 50 loans to struggling entrepreneurs and positively impact 300 children in the community. By the end of three years, this gift will provide 361 loans as loans are repaid and the money recycled.
