Remembering World Vision in your will
Each one of us has different ways of leaving our mark on the
world. Partnering with World Vision through a gift in your will, is
one way to leave your mark and create change that continues long
beyond your lifetime. World Vision is made up of individuals, like
you, who are touched by the suffering poverty causes in developing
countries, particularly to children. We have the heart and passion,
as well as the ability and experience, to achieve real and lasting
change with your help.
How effective is your gift to World Vision?
You can be sure your gift to World Vision New Zealand will truly
help make a difference:
- World Vision is New Zealand's largest charity working in
overseas development. We've been assisting communities since 1971,
and with the generous support of Kiwis, have helped change the
lives of hundreds of thousands of children and families.
- These communities now have better schools, new health clinics,
safe and clean water, improved homes, new businesses, productive
livestock and crops, and renewed hope. Better still, they also have
the skills and training to manage and grow their communities
themselves without our help.
- We have passionate, skilled staff, committed to ending poverty
and giving all children the chance of a healthy, happy future. To
achieve this goal, we make the best possible use of all financial
donations we receive.
- On average, 80 per cent of money raised by World Vision, goes
directly to our work overseas. And we're transparent about what
happens with donations. Please feel free to view our accounts, which
are annually audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers.
- We know, from years of experience and success that World Vision
really does work. Together, we truly are making a difference and
building a better world.
How do I make a bequest?
To make a bequest you need a will. If you already have a
will all you need to do is add a legal supplement or
codicil to your will. Download a codicil form. If you don't
already have a will, download our
booklet here or request a copy to be
posted to you.
You are free to place conditions on any bequest. However, since
we are unlikely to receive your bequest until far into the future,
it is most beneficial to those we are helping if its terms are as
general as possible. A decision can be made at the time on where
the need is the greatest.
Value of legal advice
When preparing a will, we would always advise seeking qualified
legal advice. Consult a solicitor, the Public Trust Office or a
trustee company such as Guardian Trust. The New Zealand Law Society
www.lawsociety.org.nz and your local Citizen's
Advice Bureau www.cab.org.nz can help you find a solicitor if
you don't already have one.
