Counting down
An Area Development Programme (ADP) begins with a small group of communities and gradually expands to cover a sizeable geographic area. As part of the programme, World Vision facilitates the establishment of community-based organisations to help each community to manage its own development. After this work is completed, these organisations will continue in this role, providing strong local commitment to continue developing without being dependent on World Vision.
Dahod ADP has now commenced its transition from World Vision facilitation of projects to local management. This allows World Vision to phase out sponsorship of children in this community. The transition takes two to three years and will be completed in September 2008. During this process, you will be offered the opportunity to sponsor another child as we replicate this successful outcome with communities in another ADP. Your continued support is helping communities to help themselves.
