A camp of change
In June last year, children from throughout Mayurbhanj Area Development Programme attended a five-day life-skills camp.

Details about the lives of inspirational figures
were among the lessons learned at the camp.

More than 520 children from the 59 villages that make up Mayurbhanj ADP learned, played, sang together and studied the inspirational lives of people such as Mahatma Gandhi and Mother Teresa.
The children are enthusiastic about the things they learned at the camp. “The five days helped me to learn discipline, the importance of unity and to how interact with others,” said Jesmitha.
“The life story of Madam Curie challenged me to help others even in difficult times,” said Sanjay. “This camp has taught me how to interact with others in a loving and friendly way.”
Charu, another child who attended, said: “I will teach my friends who were not able to attend the camp about the stories and songs I have learned. I will pass on what I learned for the other children.”
