Since it began child sponsorship in October 2005, Kanombe Area Development Programme (ADP) has:
Health and sanitation
- Held two two-day workshops for 90 families; topics included breast-feeding, nutrition, consequences of malnutrition, and growing vegetables
- Paid for health insurance for all sponsored children
Education
- Provided stationery, uniforms and school fees so 509 sponsored children can attend school
Leadership development
- Selected a community development committee of eight members
- Trained the committee and local leaders in project planning, monitoring, evaluating and financial management
- Established and trained a disaster mitigation and response committee of 15 people
