Making school better
World Vision believes it is important for every child to attend school. So Budekwa (Area Development Programme) ADP is doing a wide range of education-related activities.
The ADP increases the capacity of schools by building new classrooms, refurbishing existing ones and supplying desks.
It also constructs offices for teachers and on-site accommodation to make working at the, mostly rural, schools easier for teachers and thus improve staff retention.
To improve the quality of education, teachers are also offered refresher training workshops. This helps keep them up to speed with the latest thinking and gives them a chance to interact with other teachers and share ideas.
Students are not left out – the ADP supports them with pens, exercise books and sometimes uniforms.
