These are some of Bugabo ADPs achievements since October 2001:

Rainwater 'jars' collect water for domestic use.
  • Protected seven natural springs to prevent water contamination and built 34 household water jars for collecting rainwater.
  • Provided gifts of exercise books and soap to sponsored children. The gifts were distributed as children had their photographs taken for their annual progress reports.
  • Commenced construction of three simple houses (for homeless or orphaned children), six classrooms and three teachers’ offices.
  • Provided 100 desks, 500 school uniforms and more than 2000 textbooks.
  • Organised mock examinations for 476 Standard 7 pupils. The mock exams help students and teachers prepare for the official examinations.
  • Organised refresher training for 38 village health workers and 90 community counsellors.
  • Provided five bicycles to Government dispensaries to support their immunisation programme and 25 cycles to community counsellors. The bicycles enable the workers to reach remote villages.
  • Provided 10 delivery kits to traditional birth attendants.
  • Trained 40 farmers in livestock management and supplied each farmer with a dairy cow. The ADP plans to extend the livestock programme in 2003 by purchasing milking goats.
  • Organised seminars on income generating activities for 80 women and young people.
  • Trained 64 men and women in project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. These skills are essential if the community is to plan and manage their own development independently in the future.
