Making time to help children with their homework

Lately, the children at Malolo Primary have started to really enjoy school.
“The provision of sports equipment has increased school attendance”, says teacher Emmanuel Maziku. He says pupils are happy to come to school not because of studies alone but also they know after lessons they can go outside and play sport.
“Sports bring friendship among pupils but also between pupils and teachers”, he says. When there is friendship in the classroom, Mr Maziku says pupils become more open, making them easier to teach.
He says World Vision has done a lot to help people in Bukene, particularly by building two teachers’ houses, providing textbooks and running a school feeding project.
