Children have a better learning environment.
  • Built 65 classrooms and repaired 12 others.
  • Built or repaired 24 teachers’ offices and built 25 teachers’ houses (duplexes).
  • Provided 1799 desks, 71 tables, 55 chairs and more than 7000 textbooks to primary schools.
  • Organised refresher courses for 126 primary school teachers.
  • The enrolment rate for Standard 1(first year of primary school) has increased from 45 per cent to 95.5 per cent.
  • Primary school attendance has increased from 48 per cent to 98 per cent.

  • More than 993,000 tree seedlings have been planted in the community. Tree seeds and polythene tubes have been supplied to primary schools so they can establish tree nurseries.
  • The percentage of sponsored children under five years who are weighed or attend clinics every month has increased from 35 per cent to at least 79 per cent.
  • 20 small business co-operatives have formed, learnt business skills and opened bank accounts so they can bank profits from group activities.
  • Built 43 water tanks in primary schools and health facilities to provide clean drinking water.
  • Built three boreholes in two villages.
  • Trained 18 village health workers, 18 traditional birth attendants and 18 HIV/AIDS counsellors to provide health care in the community.
  • Immunisation of under-five children has increased from 36 per cent to 100 per cent.
  • The percentage of families with sufficient food year-round has increased from 68 per cent to 80 per cent.
  • Trained 38 male and 18 female leaders in planning, executing, monitoring and evaluating community projects.
