Snippets
The following are some achievements in Vanuatu’s Tafea Community Development Programme. Since October 2004 World Vision has:
- Completed the repair work on Ikiti health centre and held an opening ceremony
- Conducted a health awareness campaign for 60 people from Anaplasu community; topics included household hygiene and health at home
- Provided water tanks and pipes to extend the main water supply system to Ionanen village
- Held a two-day workshop for 10 members of water committees from five villages
- Constructed four community preschool buildings and provided educational materials for 20 preschools
- Trained 13 preschool teachers and provided refresher training for eight others
- Held a five-day refresher training workshop for tutors in the women’s economic development programme
- Facilitated monthly meetings of the village development committee
