Malaria
Nakonde Area
Development Programme (ADP)has held meetings with officials from the Ministry
of Health on how best to carry out anti-malaria campaigns in Nakonde communities
and so reduce the incidence of the disease.
It was decided that campaign teams would be formed to travel around the
villages, educating local people on malaria prevention, treatment and
control.
The teams consist of trained personnel from the Ministry of Health and
community leaders.
The ADP received 1000 insecticide-treated mosquito nets from World Vision
Zambia’s national office. The nets are sold at subsidised prices
to locals to use as a means of malaria prevention.
