Care for mothers-to-be

Care for mothers-to-be
TULA, FIELD PROGRAMME MANAGER, NAWADA COMMUNITY, INDIA

Mothers-to-be need special care and support during their pregnancy. With limited access to fully equipped health centres, we trained healthcare workers to conduct home visits to expectant and new mothers.

So far, 590 mothers of children aged 2-23 months received a post-natal visit from a trained health care worker within two days after birth.

The healthcare workers do an amazing job educating and checking up on these new mothers. They teach about good breast-feeding practices, washing practices and nutrition.

Expectant and new mothers are now supported and new babies are getting the best start to life.
