Terrified, medicated and traumatised

“In my nightmares, darkness surrounds me,” he says. “My mum is not with me. I feel like she’s abandoning me and leaving. Then I see blood everywhere.”

Seven-year-old Ahoora suffers trauma from living in detention in Nauru. His artwork is a depiction of his nightmares - a result from the harsh conditions that he faces living in detainment.

This article from The Guardian highlights why we are working to get the #KidsOffNauru. Ahoora is just one of the 119 children who is suffering. World Vision strives to change the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children, so we will continue to use our voice until the refugee children in Nauru are free to live their hopes and dreams.
