"Children like me need someone who will decide to change our future," says Janvie, a former sponsored child from the Philippines. As a child, poverty forced Janvie to work on a sugarcane plantation to support his family instead of going to school. Then he became a sponsored child and his life changed. 

"When I was six, my parents suddenly left me at my grandmother’s and never returned. While she struggled to keep food on the table and a sturdy roof over our heads, I struggled with feeling abandoned. In World Vision’s sponsorship program, I found the hope I needed to thrive. I got to stay in school. I received leadership training. I found my voice." 

Together, we’ve impacted the lives of over 200 million vulnerable children by tackling the root causes of poverty. Children just like Janvie. Now, Janvie is a child rights advocate and sponsors a child of his own.
