Chadakori Community

Niger is the least urbanized state in West Africa and has a huge shortage of healthcare with only one doctor per 47,500 people. We have been partnering with them since 2008.

We’re working to improve access to health clinics and provide immunization for children under two years old against the most common preventable diseases. Our work includes supporting parents to increase their income through savings and loan groups that initiate new business.

We have already achieved great things in the Chadakori community by teaching mums how to prevent malnutrition and empowering women through savings groups.

We’re working with the people of Chadakori to build a community where children thrive.

We’ve been partnering with Chadakori for almost 10 years now and are starting to tackle the harder problems such as changing mindsets about the right to education for girls or early marriage. We’re focusing on building skills, hope and opportunity for Chadakori community.

After these projects are complete we ensure all our work is sustainable, and that the community is set up to identify and respond to needs as they arise. We plan for our partnership to continue until 2022 when we will have delivered a multitude of skills and knowledge for the community to continue their own development.
