We have partnered with the Tubehoneza community for over 10 years; and are now seeing the long-term impact our work is having on the children of Tubehoneza.

Education is a core focus of our work with the Tubehoneza community, as we work together to improve access to quality education for children. In 2018, we focused efforts on increasing the number of children enrolled in early childhood education. In partnership with local leaders, we assisted 8 nursery schools with learning and teaching materials and trained 45 teachers of nursery schools on early childhood development teaching methodology.

We’re working with the people of Tubehoneza to build a community where children thrive.

We’re working with the people of Tubehoneza to build a community where children thrive.
We have formed 38 children’s clubs where 1,240 children are participating in activities dedicated to child well-being. Activities include; dancing, singing, drama, football; as well as education about child rights and protection, HIV and AIDS prevention and environmental protection.

Community healthcare workers are actively engaged in nutrition activities such as mobilizing the community on the importance of exclusive breastfeeding and antenatal care. These activities are contributing to a reduction in the prevalence of stunting in children under five in the Tubehoneza community.

We will continue our partnership with the Tubehoneza community until 2022, continuing to build their knowledge, skills and resilience through sustainable projects, ensuring they will be equipped to identify and respond to needs as they arise.
