By sponsoring children in Chi Kreng community, you are making an incredible difference in vulnerable children’s lives.
Your support is helping Chi Kreng community by improving the physical, emotional, spiritual and social well-being of the most vulnerable children.
Through decades of experience, we have proven that the most effective way to help a child is to strengthen their entire community, caring for every child along the way. In fact, because of these community-focused solutions, for every child you sponsor, 4 more benefit too!
Together, we are tackling the hard problems, such as changing mindsets and behaviours to address the root causes of poverty. We're focusing on building skills, hope and opportunity for the children of Chi Kreng community.
563 families learnt about hygiene and now have a hand-washing station with soap at home, helping to keep children safer from disease.
71 teachers learnt about child protection, gender equality, and positive discipline, helping to make school a safer place for children.
210 books with local stories in the local language were given to reading camps, inspiring more children to read outside of school.
837 more people now have a toilet at home, helping to stop children and families going to the toilet outdoors and limiting the spread of disease.
"Before the library at school did not have a lot of storybooks and most of the books were old and not very interesting. Now the library looks more attractive, and we love reading and borrowing our favourite books." – Socheata (8), pictured left
"I used to feel unsafe, and it was difficult going to the toilet in the fields. Now my parents have built a latrine and a place for us to wash our hands. I feel safe and clean."– Tita (11)
"I volunteer at children's club. I help children to improve their reading and writing. They especially enjoy using the new learn-to-read toolkits that World Vision has provided." – Somneang (16), pictured standing
We will continue our partnership with the Chi Kreng community until 2024. Continuing to build knowledge, skills and resilience through sustainable projects; equipping the community to identify and effectively respond to needs as they arise.

Floating village on Tonlé Sap lake
There's a lake that can flow in two directions!
Tonlé Sap, located in northwest Cambodia, is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and one of the most diverse and productive ecosystems in the world.
The lake is attached to Tonlé Sap River, which then connects it to the Mekong River. The Mekong's water volume fluctuates, and combined with the Asian monsoon season these seasonal changes cause a unique flow reversal.
Thousands of people live on the Tonlé Sap lake, living in floating villages that rise and fall with the ebb and flow of the flood waters. They rely on the Tonlé Sap's fisheries for their livelihoods, while the communities of the flood plain predominantly engage in small-scale agriculture, with some seasonal fishing.
You can help another child break free from poverty, for good. Your sponsorship will help bring essentials like clean water, education and healthcare to a child and their community.
Children in the world’s most dangerous places need you now. Help them survive, recover and build a future. You can provide life-saving food, water and protection to kids whose lives are on the line.
Including a gift in your Will to World Vision is a wonderfully generous way to ensure the values that are important to you live on, as you continue impacting communities around the world.
