School attendance used to be a big problem in Vomika’s village.
“Children would wander around after school,” says Vomika, vice president of the children’s forum. “Then, they wouldn’t want to go to class the next day because they hadn’t done their homework.”
You see, there wasn’t anywhere for children to go after school that provided structure or safety. It was a cycle that needed to be broken.

Things changed when generous sponsors like you empowered Vomika and other child leaders to set up a child-friendly space – a safe place for children to go after school, and also receive tutoring.
Vomika recalls that slowly the number of children attending increased. And it’s easy to understand why when you see their joy at having a space to call their own!
“Now, children no longer wander around aimlessly,” Vomika shares. “They eagerly come to us whenever they get the chance, study diligently, and achieve good results.”
