Kitchen gardens are providing healthy food all-year round

Kitchen gardens are providing healthy food all-year round
WINNIE MALLYA, FIELD REPORTER MAGUGU, TANZANIA

In Magugu, Tanzania, we are helping communities grow kitchen gardens. These gardens will provide families with nutritious, year-round food source. The goal is for families to never go hungry and for them to eat nutritious food for better health.

Anna (pictured on right) is a World Vision extension officer. She’s showing Mohammed (pictured on left) how to get the kitchen garden started. Mohammed received training on vegetable production so he could improve the health of his family though good nutrition.

Mohemmed is one of the six people chosen to receive technical support on how to build a kitchen garden. He will then be able to teach other members of the community and pass on the knowledge.

I can’t wait to update you when more and more families start building these kitchen gardens. Stay tuned!
