On Sunday 16th of August 2021, a devastating 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti. A country that is already struggling with poverty, civil unrest, and the deadly impacts of COVID-19. The earthquake has left the people of Haiti in despair. Homes, churches, and schools have been flattened. There are reports coming through of hospitals being overwhelmed. Thousands are feared dead.  

Generous Kiwis like you supported the most vulnerable people in Haiti when the last earthquake struck, taking the lives of more than 200,000.

Since then, World Vision's global team have been working to help Haitians rebuild their lives. Right now, World Vision's expert emergency response team is on the ground assessing the damage from the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that struck on Sunday 16th August to determine what action is needed to help those in urgent need.
